Legal aid in protecting the rights of minorities, internally displaced persons, refugees and asylum seekers
CLA will provide free legal aid for vulnerable groups in Kosovo such as minorities, internally displaced persons, refugees and asylum seekers, providing them with information regarding the proceedings on:
- The rights of communities and their members;
- Property rights;
- Completing the documents to register on the Civil registry;
- Issuing the identification documents;
- The rights on employment or other benefits from pension schemes;
- Initiating administrative proceedings to handle cases regarding human rights.
In accordance with International Conventions and the Law on Asylum in Kosovo, CLA will provide free legal aid for asylum seekers, who request refugee status recognition. Free legal aid by the CLA for asylum seekers will include, but not be limited to:
- Information regarding the rights and obligations of applicants for asylum;
- Legal aid to compile complaints;
- Compiling legal remedies against decisions rendered during the asylum application review procedure;
- Representing in procedure in front of the competent body etc.
CLA will provide free legal aid for the refugees also. Free legal aid by the CLA for the refugees will include these activities, but will not be limited only to them:
- Information regarding the rights and obligations deriving from the refugee status recognition or complementary defense status;
- Assistance in compiling complaints and representing refugees in front of competent body in cases of discontinuance of refugee status;
- Annulling or revoking the refugee status or complementary defense status;
